In December, 2020, the Union Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the proposal of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to proliferate Broadband through Public Wi-Fi Networks under the framework of Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI). PM WANI is a Government of India initiative to distribute the internet through installations of Public WiFi Hotspots all over India. The PM WANI project will allow India to access fast, seamless and reliable internet connectivity through the medium of Public Wi-Fi Hotspots.
Mega Telecom Infra Private Limited is an organization registered with Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Government of India as a Public Data Office Aggregator (PDOA) engaged in the business of development and installation of PM-WANI compliant Wi-Fi Access Points (“Public Data Office”) for provide last-mile connectivity to deliver broadband services to subscribers and provide aggregation services such as authorization and accounting to the Public Data Office, thereby facilitating the Public Data Office in providing services to the end consumer.
